En ocasión de la 23 Feria Internacional del Libro de Bogotá, Ilustradores Colombianos con el apoyo de la cámara del libro presentarán {Img.} 50 Formas de ver la ilustración. Libro que compila a cincuenta ilustradores colombianos, además durante el evento estará abierto para el público una exposición, una serie de charlas y otros eventos.
En esta oportunidad hago parte de este proyecto participando como ilustradora. No se pierdan la exposición y muchas gracias a todas las personas que hicieron posible este proyecto, a los ilustradores participantes, a los organizadores, a Jorge Restrepo, a Diana Arias y a José Rosero.
Aquí va la ilustración que hace parte del libro y aquí va el proceso.

For the 23th Bogotá international Book Fair, Colombian Illustrators with Cámara del Libro support, will show {Img.} 50 Formas de ver la Ilustración. A book that compiles fifty colombian illustrators, aswell, during the event an expositon will be open to the public. Also,some series of seminars and other events.

Prometí que iba postear con más frecuencia, pero no lo he hecho. Últimamente tuve mil cosas en la cabeza así que no hice mucho, y finalmente me estanqué, siento que debo empezar de alguna manera desde ceros así que empezaré hacerlo desde la otra semana, es hora de tomar riesgos.
Esta ilustración la hice hace ya varios meses pero no la había posteado, ahora que la vuelvo a ver sé que hay muchas cosas que cambiaría o mejoraría, supongo que tengo que seguir trabajando.

I promised I’d tried to post more frequently, but I didn’t. I had a lot of things going on in my head so I couldn’t do anything, and finally I got stock; I feel the need to start from scratch in some way so I decided to do it next week; it’s time to take some risks.
I did this illustration some months ago but I didn’t posted it, and now that I see it again I know there are some things that I’d change or make it better, I guess I have to keep working.

No he escrito como había prometido, pero al menos este es un post largo y con varias imágenes.
La última semana fue absolutamente increíble, pues fue el concierto de Coldplay y por el hecho de tener más años.
En cuanto a mi cumpleaños, gracias a todos los que se acordaron y me escribieron. Y en cuanto al concierto de Coldplay solo tengo que decir que fue absolutamente fascinante, las luces, las cámaras, el sonido, la lluvia de mariposas y el hecho de haberlos tenido a menos de 2 mt de distancia. Aunque no tomé fotos, hice esta ilustración para aquellos que estuvieron ahí y para los que no, igual espero que les guste.
Los dejo con unas imágenes, y los invito a la galería de Sonia Pérez y vean su nuevo producto… ¡unas hermosas postales!

I have not written as I promised, but at least this is a long post and has lots of images.
Last week was absolutely amazing: Coldplay’s concert in Bogotá and the
fact that now I have more years.
On my birthday, thanks to everyone who remembered it and write to me. And on the Coldplay’s concert, I just have to say that it was absolutely fascinating, the lights, the cameras, the sound, thebutterflies’ rain and the fact that I was at least 2 mt from these guys. I didn’t take any shot, but I did this illustration for the people who were there and the ones who weren’t; I hope you like it.

Mi segundo nombre es suerte, y por si les interesa la primera es mala.
Lamentablemente perdí toda la información de mi computador (incluyendo todo mi trabajo, fotos, música y mucha, pero mucha información). Supongo que me tardaré un tiempo para volver a postear mientras empiezo de cero.
Por otra parte, ahora tengo ¡Twitter! Muy divertido por cierto.

Estos días he estado trabajando en algunos proyectos personales (Que espero subir pronto).
La semana pasada realicé esta imagen para el malpensante: “El color es la expresión de una virtud escondida” basada en “escrito en el jardín” por Marguerite Yourcenar, aunque la imagen no apareció junto al texto les recomiendo mucho el articulo que está en el malpensate edición 99.
Y para aquellos que no han visto (o que quieren volver a ver Partly Cloudy) aquí está, es simplemente maravillosa. Gracias a Gamgee por el link.

These days I’ve been working in some personal projects (I hope to upload soon).
The last week I did this image for El Malpensante “the color is an expression of a hidden virtue” based in “Wrote In The Garden” by Marguerite Yourcenar. Although the image and the text don’t appear together, I recommend the article from el malpensante edition 99.

Un jardinier me fait remarquer que c’est en automne qu’on perçoit la vraie couleur des arbres. Au printemps, l’abondance de la chlorophylle leur donne à tous une livrée verte. No hay mucho que decir esta vez.
Dicté mi pequeña conferencia la semana pasada y fue excelente. Gracias a los que asistieron. Aquí van también dos nuevas ilustraciones, una fue para Bacánika sobre como sería el entretenimiento en el 2047, la verdad disfruté mucho hacerla. La otra ilustración fue una idea que se me ocurrió y presenté para una revista pero no fue aprobada así que decidí modificarla un poco, en todo caso me gustó mucho como quedó al final.
Y algunos bocetos, claro, no tienen nada que hacer al lado de los bocetos de James Jean o Nicolás Uribe, pero hay que empezar a practicar para el “sketchcrawl” que va a ser el 11 de Julio.
Nos vemos entonces.
I gave my little talk last week and it was great. Thanks to the people who were there.
Two new illustrations, one for Bacánika on how would be the entertaintment in 2047, I really ejoyed drawing it. The other was an idea I had and present it to a magazine but didn’t pass, so, I decided to modify it a little. Anyway, I like the way it turned.
And some sketches, of course, they’re nothing compared with James Jean or Nicolás Uribe‘s sketches, but i need to practice for the next Sketchcrawl the next July 11th.

El último mes fue increíble, quizá un poco raro. Tres de mis ilustraciones fueron publicadas al mismo tiempo que la cartilla de Maloka. Al parecer las cosas van bien, lentamente pero bien. Lo más interesante e inspirador ha sido conocer varios artistas, además de ver como mis amigos también continúan trabajando fuertemente.
Por otro lado, la siguiente semana estoy invitada a dar una pequeña conferencia para los estudiantes de seminario de Artes Visuales en la Javeriana sobre los procesos que tuve durante mi trabajo de grado. Estoy muy emocionada porque será la primera vez que hable en público sobre mi trabajo de grado.

Weird Fishes – Weird Days
The last month was awesome, perhaps a little weird. Three of my illustrations were published at the same time than the Maloka’s book. Things seems to go well, slow, but well. The most interesting and inspiring has been meeting several artists and seeing how my friends keep the hard work.
On the other hand, I’m invited to give a little conference to the students of the Visual Arts at Javeriana about the process I had in my grade project next week. I’m very excited ’cause it would be the first time I speak publicly about my grade project

Creo que este va a ser un post largo.
Llevaba mucho tiempo sin subir nada y ahora tengo la oportunidad de hacerlo. He estado bastante ocupada; al fin me gradué, estuve trabajando y estuve buscando trabajo, además de tratar de ser una persona adulta y decente, cosa que ha costado bastante trabajo, especialmente si el gobierno debe quitarle a uno cerca del 25% de impuestos de lo que uno trabaja, pero ese es otro tema.
Todavía no puedo creer que me haya graduado, sucedió el 25 de Marzo. Fue un gran día, intercambié un dibujo con mi estimadísimo profesor Machado (Él me dio uno de Charlie y la fábrica de chocolates y yo a él de Alicia en el país de las maravillas). También me regalaron una muñequita que luce como yo, y al fin tengo fotos para Mostrar (muchas, muchas gracias a Gamgee). Es increíble como cambian las cosas en tan poco tiempo pero así es la vida; acontecimientos buenos, acontecimientos malos, pero finalmente sólo acontecimientos.
Aquí va la ilustración que hice para Felipe: “The Mad Hatter and Strawberry Fields Forever”, La canción Strawberry fields forever estaba en mi mente, así que tuve que hacer una ilustración con ello.

The Mad Hatter And Strawberry Fields Forever
I think this would be a long post.
It’s been a long time since I upload something, and now I have the chance to do it. I’ve been very busy; I finally graduated, I was working and looking for a job, and, of course, trying to be an adult decent person. It has been hard, especially on the fact the government deducts the 25% of my pay for taxes, but that’s a different story.
I still can’t believe I graduated (Last March 25). It was a great day. My dear teacher Machado and I exchanged sketches (he gave a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory sketch and I gave him an Alice in Wonderland one). Also I was given a little doll that looks like me, and now I have some photos to show (Thanks, thanks a lot Gamgee). Is unbelievable how things change in a short time, but that’s the life: good moments, bad moments; just moments at the end.
Here, the illustration I made to Felipe: “The Mad Hatter and Strawberry Fields Forever”. The song was on my mind so… I needed to make an illustration about it.
And, at last, I don’t have anything to say, but cheers and thanks!
